When the
Soviets sent the first satellite into space, called Sputnik, America
rushed to get into spa
ce. NASA was formed to get the country's
technology going and working. They started the Apollo programs
which sent humans into space, and it learned a lot about the
universe that surrounds us. The Apollo 11 program was the first
program designed to let a human being land on the moon. The crew
consisted of Neil Armstrong, Edwin E Aldrin Jr., and Michael
Collins. When they launched into space, Neil Armstrong was the
